Australian Hardwoods are commonly light brown through to dark brown with a grain that is moderately textured and course.

 

As the name suggest hardwood is very hard and offers a strong measure in protection against indentation while still maintaining the ease of use for working with hand tools. There are several types of Australian hardwood species.
